I was going through my old writings today and came across this entry I wrote a few months ago. I thought I’d share it with you today…

I was gazing at a candle light.

Then I thought that we are like the candle light. Always swaying, flickering, dancing. The stillness and centredness are only “moments”.

But it is the constant movement, the constant flicker, the unpredictable swaying of its light that makes the candle a candle (It’s not like a light bulb with its “unmoving” light). Similarly, it is our flickering, swaying, dancing emotions and “dualities” that make us human.

The wick represents our physical body. It is what connects our light to the earth (the body of the candle). It is the wick that makes it possible for the candle to light up, just like it is our human body that makes it possible for our light to shine on earth.

Then, I thought even with the flickering, swaying and dancing, we are still light.
